VARG Creation rules, contributed by Chris Hil
CREATION STEPS
There are 4 different VARG classifications currently in production. A VARG is classified by its total weight. The combination of its chassis, weapons, upgrades and equipment all add up to give a VARG its total weight. It is possible for a VARG with a starting 'scout' chassis to have enough weapons, upgrades and equipment added to it during the creation process for it to move to a higher classification.
The classifications are as follows:
VARG CLASSIFICATIONS
Scout: The scout class is the smallest, lightest and cheapest of the available VARG's. VARG's created around this chassis type are usually used as lightweight reconnaissance and Special Ops VARG's. Due to the small size of the Scout chassis most VARG's of this type have only one small weapon and very little armour. A Scout Class VARG weighs between 1 and 3 tons. A Scout Class VARG is usually 3 metres or so in height.
Tactical: The tactical class is possibly the most versatile of all the VARG's available. Whilst still lightweight the tactical class can accommodate more weapons that the scout and usually a significant amount more armour. Still highly manoeuvrable, the tactical class does not pack anywhere near as much punch as the real heavyweight's of the battlefield - the Assault class. A Tactical Class VARG weighs between 3 and 7 tons. A Tactical Class VARG is usually no taller than 5 metres.
Assault: The Assault class is the largest VARG type that may be found on a battlefield performing standard battle functions. This chassis is much heavier than other VARG's, can carry more weapons and is always heavily armoured. It is not unknown for a single Assault VARG to defeat a couple of tactical class VARG's or even half a dozen Scout class with terrifying ease. Although capable of sporting numerous long-range weapons, an Assault Class VARG is usually outfitted with devastating close combat weapons, anti-personnel weapons and masses of armour. Assault Class pilots like to get up close and personal. An Assault Class VARG weighs between 7 and 10 tons. An Assault Class VARG is usually between 4 and 7 metres tall.
Support: The Support class VARG is a true behemoth. Many more times the size and weight of the Assault class, Support VARG's are almost never deployed directly on the field of battle, but placed many dozens of kilometres away providing off field support fire with truly devastating weapons. A single Support VARG is capable of levelling a large town on its own! A Support Class VARG weighs a minimum of 10 tons. There is no upper limit to the weight of a Support Class VARG. Support Class VARG's are staggering in size. They are usually at least 8 metres tall. It is not unknown for VARG's of this class to reach 20 metres in size.
STEP ONE: VARG CHASSIS
The chassis provides a VARG with its superstructure, basic power supply, weapon emplacements (hard points) and base capabilities.
The descriptions below detail the basic statistics provided by each VARG chassis - which will alter during the course of customising your VARG.

All of the basic statistics could change during the creation process. This makes for many VARG's that are unique.
It is important to remember that the chassis classification (scout assault etc.) are for descriptive purposes. If a scout class chassis is modified enough during creation process to move it into a higher weight range, then the VARG is referred to as the new classification. Its basic statistics do not change to reflect the base statistics of that new classification. The original chassis limitations are still in effect.
STEP TWO: VARG OPTIONS & UPGRADES
Once you have chosen the base chassis for your VARG you can begin modifying it with equipment, extra armour and other technologies.
This is done before weapons are added to the VARG. Some of the modifications you make now in this step of the creation process will have 'trade-offs'. A trade-off is a sacrifice you make in order to add modifications. For example, adding extra armour will increase not only the weight of the VARG, but may start to effect its CS and TS values.
The only limitations to the options and upgrades you may use on your VARG chassis are the trade-offs you are prepared to accept, the cost in ¥, the availability of the required components and the time it takes to refit the VARG.

UPGRADE LIMITATIONS
Some upgrades from the above table can only be applied a limited number of times. This is due to the limitations that come with VARG superstructures and current technological advances.
The table below shows the limitations on some of the above upgrades and options.

VARG-COMPS AND VARG-AGENTS
Computers and SI Agents are used to not only enhance a VARG's capabilities, but as many VARG pilots live in their vehicles for extended periods of time they also act as a personal Mini-comp. A VARG-comp can be removed & replaced easily from a VARG's Interior and, apart from some peripheral fittings, look like a normal mini-comp when removed.
VARG-Agents are usually slightly modified versions of standard Agents in production. A VARG-Agent is specially modified to operate certain basic VARG functions (such as performing sensor sweeps whilst the pilot is firing weapons) and are always fitted with voice activation systems. A VARG can function effectively without a VARG-Comp. Instead of a VARG-Agent performing some standard functions, the pilot must do it instead. The extra fittings necessary to both VARG-Comp's and VARG-Agents tends to push the price up a bit.

STEP THREE: VARG WEAPONS
The range and purpose of weapons that can be fitted to VARG's is perhaps the most varied in modern warfare. A VARG's versatility comes down to the fact that they can be outfitted with a wide variety of equipment and weapons to suit almost any battlefield need. As VARG's are technically vehicles most of the weaponry listed below has a damage add value, making VARG's particularly deadly when engaging infantry targets.
